Are you sweating too much? Does it seem like you are always sweating, even when you're not hot or exhausted? Is there embarrassing body odor with your excessive sweating? If so, then you probably have hyperhidrosis, which can be caused by other medical conditions, or treatment for other medical conditions. Some medications are known to make one sweat too much as a side effect.

The good news is that there are ways to deal with the excessive perspiration. If you are sweating too much, there are a few things you can try to stop it. Hyperhidrosis usually affects the palms, underarms, face, and feet. More often than not, the sweat mixes with bacteria on the skin and produces a foul odor. Thus, bathing every day and improving personal hygiene is the most effective way of preventing excessive sweating.

Here are some more tips for stopping armpit sweat:

  1. Exfoliation is a great method of reducing the amount of sweat produced. Use an oil-free exfoliating scrub on any area where you tend to sweat too much. This will clear out the pores, which will make it easier for toxins to get out of your system. When the pores can "breathe", and sweat is able to come out freely, there will be less of it.

  2. There are some health drinks and teas that you can drink to control hyperhidrosis. These include sage tea, apple cider vinegar drinks, green tea, tomato juice, turnip juice, and hushed tea. Choose one of these and drink at least two cups a day to keep yourself from sweating too much.

  3. Wear organic clothing that is free from chemicals! When you wear synthetic fabrics, your pores are unable to "breathe", and this results in a lot of sweating. Start wearing loose, organic fabrics against your skin, and you won't sweat as much. Ideally, wear clothes that are made out of 100% cotton or wool.

  4. Watch your diet. Consume the healthy drinks mentioned above, and eat plenty of vegetables and fruits throughout the day. Avoid drinks that are high in caffeine, and foods that contain a lot of spices. These will fill your body with chemicals that trigger perspiration. Also, make sure to follow general hyperhidrosis diet tips

  5. Go on a "detox diet". You can do this by avoiding any canned items, junk food, and red meats for a period of seven to ten days. Only eat fruits, vegetables, and lean meats. Drink tons of water every day along with tea or juice, and your body will get rid of all of the toxins causing you to sweat. During this detox time, you should also avoid alcohol and drugs (except for prescription medicine).

  6. Don't use regular deodorants - they might block the odor, but they won't stop the sweat. Instead, opt for antiperspirants containing aluminum chloride. This is known to block sweat altogether. Use an unscented antiperspirant, since the scented kind can contain chemicals, which will be counterproductive. According to studies, roll-ons do a better job of preventing sweat than aerosols.

  7. If you need short-term relief due to an upcoming interview or appointment, immerse yourself in cool water and soak for thirty minutes beforehand. This will help shrink your pores enough to provide sweat protection. After you get out of the bathtub, sprinkle some talcum powder, baking soda, or cornstarch onto the areas that usually sweat. You don't have to use a lot of powder - just rub in a small amount and it should provide you with enough protection to get through the evening.

If you often find yourself sweating too much, just try these tips to stop it! They may or may not stop your hyperhidrosis permanently, depending on the underlying cause. If you suffer from a disease or condition that is causing the problem, talk to your physician for help.
